Billy again was kind enough to drive us over to Victoria Center in Belfast. We did some more shopping, and Mike was able to get the second volume of Padraig Yates's trilogy of Dublin during the establishment of the Irish Republic. We took the group to Tescos, a grocery store in a beautiful building, and everyone bought something. While we wandered around Belfast we saw and heard many street performers, some good and many not so good.
We walked back to Victoria Center which has an observation deck about 8 stories up. We went up and took a picture of the group up there. We then walked to the Kitchen Bar Restaurant, which had very good food. There was also a guitarist singer who played all through dinner, and everyone enjoyed it. We tried to talk Debbie Aldrich into harmonizing with her, but Debbie decided against it. After eating we walked over to the Lagan River where we took pictures of the Big Blue Fish, a symbol of Belfast. We also walked on a new walking bridge (which was very windy and fun when you have a hood on) which went over the Lagan River. Pat led the group over to a statue of Jim Larkin, my great great great great uncle. We took cabs to Woodvale Methodist Church for a Praise Service, and met lots of friends from previous years visits.
After the Service we had to quickly walk back to Farset to be sure we made it through the Peace Wall gate near Forthspring, as they still lock it every night at 8pm. Fortunately we made it with about 10 minutes to spare, otherwise we would still be out walking.
